Come Holy Spirit

I have always loved the song “Spirit of the Living God” which was written by Daniel Iverson. The words are, "Spirit of the living God, Fall afresh on me. Melt me, mold me, fill me, use me. Spirit of the living God, Fall afresh on me." This is one of the most long-lasting and widely used choruses in Christian worship. Every aspect of the song embodies a simple sincerity. The melody encompasses only five notes, with every pitch in its place. The harmonies can be played by a very modestly skilled pianist, and three of the four lines repeat the same nine words. Yet for many, the straightforward petitions of this song draw the singer into an attitude of prayer. “During January and F

Pray and Believe

As Christians we are sometimes interrupted by the Holy Spirit. We can either obey the spirit or ignore it completely. I heard a story of a famous oil field called Yates Pool: During the depression this field was a sheep ranch owned by a man named Yates. Mr. Yates couldn’t make enough on his ranching operation to pay the principal and interest on the mortgage, so he was in danger of losing his ranch. What would He think? What would H

The timid Christian anxiously waited for his stop so he could exit the bus. But before he could get away from this situation, the biker burst into tears and began to weep. He then cried out with a loud voice, "I need to be saved. I’m a lost sinner and I need the Lord. W
