I think most of us are familiar with cleaning our houses. We clean the kitchen, clean the bathrooms, dust shelves, and vacuum the carpet constantly. If you have lived in one house for any number of years, you know that over the years stuff starts to accumulate. If you and I are not careful, we can become hoarders and junk can pile up ruining our lives. The same kind of stuff can happen in our spiritual lives. If we allow sin to go unchecked it can destroy the life that God created us to live. Paul writing to the Corinthians told them, "Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us." Leaven in the bible was a type of sin. Leaven is what made the bread rise. God wants us to get rid of the sin in our lives before it grows into something bad. Jesus Christ died for our sins, so we no longer have to be bound by it. He who the Son sets free is free indeed. I challenge you to pray and clean you spiritual house today!
