Call 911

At a young age we are taught that whenever we are in trouble we are to dial 911. As a young 10 year old growing up, my brother Steven and I enjoyed many adventures together. One day in my neighborhood of Hawaiian Gardens, we decided to walk down the street to the local convenience store. We spent our money on chocolate bars, gum, and then used the rest of our money playing video games, which (at the time) included "Spy Hunter" and "Tiger Heli". As we were leaving the convenience store, we saw a few fire trucks, an ambulance, and a police car headed in the direction of our house. We didn't think anything of it as we were walking home. But as we got closer, we realized that the ambulance was at our house. We ran as fast as we could.

My dad was in a horrible accident. He was working on his car and, as he was under it, the car rolled right over him. He was badly injured and almost died. Thankfully, because of the call to 911, the emergency workers were able to help him. God was with Him.

Did you know that when we are in trouble and are facing an emergency we can also dial 911? It is known as Psalm 91:1 which says, "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High, Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty." There is safety in the arms of God. Jesus knows what we are going through, and He promises to never leave us nor forsake us. All we have to do is call out to Him in prayer and put our complete trust in Him. Regardless of what you are facing today, just remember that the Creator of the universe is with you always!
