How many of you would agree that the church is not a perfect place? How many of you would agree that the Christian life is not made up of perfect people? The Christian life is made up of imperfect people following after a perfect God. We all have our short comings and we all make mistakes. Sometimes our mistakes are small ones and sometimes our mistakes are big ones. How many of you have ever worked any type of construction? Yeh, some of you have. When I first met my wife I was working as a drywall hanger and metal framer. Basically, I use to build walls. One day I was working on a construction site all by myself. My boss had given me specific instructions and specific measurements that I was supposed to follow. Somehow I miss calculated the measurements and I spent about four hours doing work the wrong way. It was all wrong and my boss was very upset. I was so bummed out because I felt like I dropped the ball. We all drop the ball at times. Sometimes we feel badly about it. Sometimes we hurt people. Sometimes we miss the mark. This is guaranteed to happen if you are a Christian. But I have news for you. God is not surprised. God does not give up on us. The bible is made of people who were far from perfect. Noah got drunk yet God used him to build this huge vessel known as the Arc. Moses had an anger problem, in fact he killed a guy one time. Yet God used him to deliver an important message known as The Ten Commandments. Abraham had his lapses of faith on more than one occasion, yet he is known in the bible as a man of faith. 1 Corinthians 1:27 is clear, “But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty.” Be encouraged today!
