As we approach passion week I am reminded of the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. Jesus was without sin, yet He took upon His body the sin of the world. He took the full weight , and the full penalty for our sin upon His body. He who was without sin became sin for us. For God so loved the world that He gave is one and only Son. The prophet Isaiah describes our suffering Savior by saying, "But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, And by His scourging we are healed." Isaiah 53:5 As we recall this event lets remember that it was love that held our Savior on the cross. Jesus showed His love with outstretched arms!
